Workshop on "Issues Concerning Direct Taxes and Goods & Services Tax"

of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is organizing a one-day Professional
Workshop on "Issues Concerning Direct Taxes and Goods & Services Tax"
on Wednesday, 20th August, 2008 at Federation House, Tansen Marg, New Delhi. The
Workshop would provide a platform to deliberate upon topics such as Commodities
Transaction Tax (CTT), Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT), Minimum Alternate Tax (MAT),
Dividend Distribution Tax (DDT), Retrospective Amendments, E-filing, Goods and
Services Tax (GST). The Workshop is aimed at making the participants fully
conversant with the critical analysis of the legal position, emerging issues and
the trends and roadmap ahead concerning the Direct Taxes and Goods and Services
Tax. By learning the procedural intricacies and the underlying philosophy of the
legal framework, the participants will be better equipped to deal with these aspects
in their organizations. The speakers at the Workshop will include eminent
tax experts from leading Tax Consultancy Firms, Senior Advocates, Consultants,
Academia and eminent Government officials. A copy of the tentative programme is
enclosed. We invite you to kindly participate in the Workshop. In case you
have some prior commitments you may kindly depute executives from your esteemed
organization to attend the Workshop. To meet the expenses of the Workshop,
a Participation fee of Rs.4,000/- per participant has been fixed, which includes
lunch, tea /coffee, workshop kit including background material. Kindly note that
